Applying to TLC Prep

Applying to TLC Prep

Step 1. Visit

Tree of Life Christian Preparatory School encourages interested families to schedule a visit to the school. This visit will focus on the school’s program and philosophy. Any questions you may have regarding the school, its procedures and policies will be addressed.

Step 2. Application Packet

Take the time to fill out the application forms below as completely as possible. Please note that Virginia law requires: “An official certified copy of the child’s birth record must be provided. (A photocopy of the child’s birth certificate will not meet this requirement.)”

If currently home-schooling, a home-school report must be provided as well as recent test scores.

Step 3. Interviews and Testing

When all forms and school transcripts have been received and reviewed, we will contact you to set up a time for the student’s interview with the teacher and any needed testing. All 5th – 8th grade applicants will need to interview with the Admissions Committee.

Step 4. Admissions Decision

Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee and the School Board. They will be made in the best interests of the prospective student, his or her family, and the school. We believe that it is a privilege, not a right, for a family to be a part of the Tree of Life Christian Preparatory School family. Acceptance is determined on a combination of criteria including previous school performance, the interview (or interviews), emotional maturity of the child and his or her ability to benefit from our program, as well as a completed application packet.

Tree of Life Christian Preparatory School is not equipped to adequately meet the needs of some emotional, physical or learning disabilities. Parents seeking to enroll a child with a previously diagnosed learning disability must provide an IEP or student’s accommodation plan from their previous school before admission can be considered. As for physical disabilities, the parent must provide written verification of what accommodations are required for their child. Each situation will be evaluated on an individual basis.

You will be notified of the board’s decision by phone or by mail. All new students to TLC Prep are on probationary status for their first 30 days.

Step 5. Enrollment

Upon receipt of your first month’s tuition, the enrollment process will be complete.
