Cathy Hoskins, Music

Cathy Hoskins is the Accompanist for the Music Department at the University of Mary Washington and has been for the past 18 years. In addition, she has performed in numerous musical theatre productions through the University’s Department of Theatre and Dance.

In addition to the University of Mary Washington, she has performed in musical productions presented by James Monroe High School, Spotsylvania High School, has been the pianist in Children of Eden for Stage Door Productions, has been the accompanist for the visiting conductor for the All-State Choral performance at Riverbend High School, and has accompanied for the Bland Competition and the Virginia National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. She has been singing since the age of 3, playing the piano since she was 8, the flute since she was 10 and loves to teach students the information she has learned over the years.

TLC Prep holds a special place in her heart as her daughter, Lindsey, graduated from TLC Prep in 2001. During Lindsey’s schooling, Cathy arranged two musical programs, ran a carnival fundraiser, ran the fruit program with her husband, and organized many car washes.

“God has given me so many blessings throughout my life. Having parents who started me in music lessons and my family now who supports and encourages me has made all the difference in the world. I want to give back to the wonderful children at TLC Prep and teach them an appreciation for and knowledge of music.”
