Nita van der Walt, Music
Nita van der Walt was born in South Africa and received her Degree in Opera performance from the Technikon of Pretoria with honors in 1999. She also passed her Vocal Performance licentiate with honors at the University of South Africa. Her stage performance includes several leading roles: Blondchen, Entfuhrung aus dem Serail; Sophie, Rosenkavalier; Despina, Cosi fan Tutti; Adele, Fledermaus;Kathie, Student Prince and Christine, Phantom of the Opera. Nita has also performed as soloist with orchestra in concert, and oratorio in South Africa and in the USA.
Nita moved to the US with her husband in June 2000. With her mind set on furthering her career in Opera performance. She soon realized God had a different plan. Through soul searching and growing in her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior it became evident that God gifted her for a purpose. That purpose was serving Him, and only Him; being a willing vessel in His hands. Nita released a CD “New Songs to Sing” in 2009. The Lord did not only inspire and call her to lift her voice and sing unto Him, but to also teach others to explore and grow their gifts for His glory. Nita has been teaching piano, voice and drama extensively over the past 16 years.
